Softskill b.ing: JIS

Cases of Jakarta International School (JIS)

Circulated that there was a kindergarten child who gets sexual abuse in school. He was sodomized by two adults. The culprit is two cleaning service. Both of them experiecing sexsual disorders. Usually it is referred to as a pedophile. As a medical diagnosis, pedophilia is a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children. A kindergarten JIS (Jakarta International School) with the initials M be a victim of sexual abuse because sodomized and got out of a number of acts of violence in the school's janitor. The case revealed after the mother of the child to talk about in front of the press.

The child tells the events that happened to her mother. He was afraid to go to the school bathroom again. Because he says there are two bad guys. He often beaten and forcibly stripped naked by a woman. Then a man who has a sexual disorder that often sodomy through their anus. He threatened that if their report to the people. The boy was now experiencing trauma and serious infection of the anus. Every night he Like was delirious "go away! Dont do that to me!". Why is the national standard schools can do the negligent supervision? And why the teachers did not keep his students.

Sexual violence against children will go a long way. In addition to the impact on health problems later in life, is also associated with prolonged trauma, even into adulthood. Children who received the short-term impact of sexual violence will experience nightmares, excessive fear in others, and decreased concentration that ultimately will have an impact on health. For the long term, when the grow up she will have a phobia of sex or even the worse he will get used to the violence before sexual intercourse. Can also after becoming an adult, the child will follow what proficiency level is done to him as a child. Then how to healing?  Be able to hypnoteraphy.  Hypnotherapy is a form of psychotherapy used to create unconscious change in the patient in the form of new responses, thoughts, attitudes, behaviors or feelings. It is undertaken with a subject in hypnosis. Hypnotherapy can restore psychological disorders experienced by children due to violence and sexual abuse.

The trick of course is different as hypnosis we see in television shows. Hypnotherapy in children can be done through stories or imagination, so that the child is not be caused to live and sleep then given new suggestions. In addition, the nature of a child is essentially active and love to play. When the children are invited to tell, then he will enter the hypnotic state itself. This is where a therapist will provide a recovery framework, conduct neutralization significance of events that have been experienced, then provide reinforcement. Non-formal hypnotherapy through the story begins with the introduction of the condition of children who experience psychological disorders. It aims to identify how severe psychological disorders experienced by the child. Then the next step is to determine what stories will be used when doing the hypnotherapy or hypnosis. Furthermore, no less important is the determination of the strategy to be able to communicate with the child. Last change can be seen from the child's response. Fast or slow recovery through hypnotherapy depends on how severe psychological disorders experienced by the child. The more severe stress, depression, and trauma experienced, then healing will also require a longer time. However, recovery usually lasts for 2-3 months. After that, the child can re-run the day-to-day activities as normal.

softskill b.ing: 2014 Election

Since the 2009 elections 2004 elections until the new system is implemented. Ie, proportional electoral system is open, which combines elements slight plurality-majority systems. Electoral system in which the country is divided into regions which are equal parts of the selection of the members of the House of Representatives that you want (or in Indonesia is often called the district system). At that time, in addition to selecting the symbol of the party's voters also have the right to vote directly for candidates. The system itself is proportional electoral system based on the percentage of parliamentary seats will be distributed on Election Participant Organisation (OPP). In other words, each organization will receive a Participant Election parliamentary seats according to the number of voters is gained in the entire territory. In this system, open the possibility of merging the small party (coalition) to gain seats in the House of Representatives. This system was not separated from the excess and deficiency. At the legislative elections held on 9 April 2014, to be followed by 33 provinces and 497 districts / cities. In a proportional system, the government makes Electoral District (DP) smaller so that the representatives (legislature) in each electoral district can be more easily and closer to its constituents. And with the proportional system is that people can get to know and know who the candidates and their representatives who they choose to be their representative in order to properly channel their aspirations.

This system per voter population of 40,000 inhabitants for example every voter obtain a representative (balanced sound), while the selected is a group of people who filed kontekstan election (multy member constituency), so that the representatives and voters are less familiar. But the rest can be merged nationally for an additional seat, with a small party that can be appreciated without an alliance, because voters appreciated. 2014 is the year for politics in Indonesia, where there are major political events of the General Election (Election) consisting of legislative elections and the presidential election. This election is certainly having an impact on the economy, especially for the growth of the national economy. This election can impact positively and negatively. On the one side this election could stimulate the economy, but on the other side actually slow the rate of the national economy. In the negative effects. The change of leadership in the legislature and the executive did not rule out replacing the policy, including economic policy. Changing government policies are expected to reduce the investment of the foreign investors. The foreign investors are worried about the assets that are expected to fluctuate in Indonesia certainly choose not to invest or revoke its assets from the country for a while until the political situation in Indonesia is stable.

This led to capital flight in Indonesia, which will greatly affect the national economic growth especially in the real sector and capital market. This is evident from the response of capital market investors negatively to the results of the legislative elections. So how about a solution to overcome these problems? Indonesia's Government should be able to maintain the stability of the economy and new government policies later should maintain long-term economic kebijaka eg Long Term Development Plan (RPJP). Election not only have a negative impact but also has a positive impact on the Indonesian economy. Governor of Bank Indonesia, Nasution said "Effect of election activity in the GDP growth was positive. There will be additional growth of normal levels but not much, about 0.2 percent, ". From his statement it is clear that the Indonesian economy grew as a result of the election. If our analysis, the economic growth of turnover derived from activities which comprise 2 election economic variables namely consumption (C) and government spending (G). In terms of consumption attributes exist for the manufacture of Political Party campaigns, advertising payments to the prospective legislative and presidential candidate, and many others. While in terms of government spending has been clearly increased with the provision of infrastructure such as print election ballots, voting booths procurement, distribution costs and others.

I think this years election the lack of information provided to the public. The occurrence of black campaign in this election same as the previous elections. Still many abstentions levels that occur in the current election. Crisis of confidence that occured in the community because of promises that had been given by the leaders who have not been realized. Legislative candidates are not optimal for being too focused socialization figures rather than ideology and program of work. Model of political campaign who still rely on the visual politics by selling figures. Supicions and doubts of political parties and the public on the commission as the neutrality of election voters. Final voters list is problematic. Suspicion of the security officers who helpes secure the ballots from polling stations (TPS) to the election commission and the central election commission. The money made by political candidates. Election in indonesia should be more open to anyone who fills seats on state officials, because it will affect all our beloved country indonesia.

Softskill b.ing: Kalimalang

Kalimalang

Kalimalang artificial river or stream is deliberately created to supply water to the taps (local water company) for the citizens of Jakarta and surrounding areas. Over time, the Kalimalang along increasingly crowded by residential and commercial center. Kalimalang which has a length of 20 kilometers, from Cawang (Jakarta) to Bekasi. Region that covers the Village or along the river is New Cawang - Cipinang Melayu - Pondok Bambu - Coconut Cottage - Lampiri - Sources Arta - Transito - Jakapermai - galaxy - Earth Satria Kencana, Metropolitan Mall Bekasi and continue until bekasi region. This Kalimalang raw water source comes from Jatiluhur, Purwakarta and continue to explore its tributaries flow through Cikampek, Cibitung, Cikarang, Tambun and other small areas. Kalimalang River watershed is derived from Jatiluhur Dam in Purwakarta is essentially used to supply water to the Water Company (PAM). In addition to irrigate agricultural areas, rivers Kalimalang stream flows past some of the area began Cikampek, Cikarang, Cibitung, Tambun Bekasi up with that eventually empties into the sea, is also used by the surrounding communities as a means of domestic interests such as; washing, bathing, to dispose of human waste. Habits People always throw trash and defecate coupled with other activities such as bathing children make Kalimalang become unhygienic water again, but Kalimalang water is a source of raw water for the water needs of the majority of the river's flow into the territory East Jakarta and Bekasi area. Coupled with the presence of a mound of rubbish on the edge this time resulted in Kalimalang river water pollution problems.

As it has been said that the next mayor of Bekasi will be held jobs related to flood management in Bekasi. One of which is the construction budget development that uses Sifon Kalimalang using state budget funds as well as funds from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). WTC Irrigation channel which divides the city of Bekasi from east to west and Bekasi River which divides from south to north. Later both the river flow will rely around the weir Bekasi, Bekasi. From Bekasi Weir, Kalimalang water that has been united with the water supplied to the Bekasi River westward to areas of Jakarta, In addition to maintaining the quality of raw water from Jatiluhur, separation WTC Irrigation Channels with Bekasi River can also minimize flooding to urban areas. Therefore it is imperative in the development plan of the culvert required careful technical planning in accordance with Law no. 11, 1971 On the Water in Article 8 says that the Water Regulation and Administration of Irrigation and Water Development prepared on the basis of planning and technical planning in the public interest. Public understanding of the importance of preserving the environment seems to be still lacking. Evidenced by the many buildings constructed defecation along the river. While in addition to the above, a variety of activities that lead to environmental pollution seems with the advent of junk collectors who cleans junk former mill waste containing chemicals in the river flow. Including second-hand goods that have been ragged and certainly pollute streams. In fact, the waters of the WTC as a feedstock for clean water for people in Jakarta including the City and Bekasi.

The water in the channel Kalimalang obviously been contaminated by waste. In fact, there is also a result of chemical waste polluted the river banks. is now widely used as a shelter thrift. E-coli contamination levels there ranged from 80,000 to 100,000 MPN per 100 mll of water. In fact, the threshold for e-coli feedstock water, only Rp 1,000 MPN/100 mll water. Pollution levels are high in water content of the raw river also acknowledged WTC Director of PDAM Bekasi, Satria Fund. However, it is still able to process the water becomes clean water to be consumed after processing must be adjusted to the Act 7 of 2004 on Water Resources, Article 59. Because if not, the higher the level of pollution in the water, and the more chemicals are used. The use of chemicals widely, increase production costs are charged to the selling price of water to the public.8

Kalimalang along this road which is in addition to time it makes a very strategic area for settlement. Both settlements among the bottom up. The shape and position of the transverse (from the reservoir Cawang Purwakarta to Jakarta) and do not lead to the sea (north) makes this river is not uncommon. As we know that leads like a river from upstream to downstream, from the mountains to the sea. Therefore the first public call by Kalimalang, even up to now it has been attached to the name. Kalimalang road along which covers 6 districts. It inevitably happens congestion problems, like other areas in Jakarta. Increasingly these problems more complicated. especially roads which seem difficult to be widened due to settlement that is too dense and cost considerations are of course very expensive for the road widening efforts. However, this step must be taken so that local governments congestion problem can be solved or at least reduced. It said the recent Jakarta Kalimalang increasingly synonymous with congestion and a scourge for the city of Jakarta.

Transjakarta

TransJakarta is a bus rapid transit (BRT) system in Jakarta. It was the first BRT system in Southern and Southeast Asia. TransJakarta was designed to provide Jakarta citizens with a fast public transportation system to help reduce rush hour traffic. The buses run in special lanes and ticket prices are subsidized by the regional government. TransJakarta there are several types. There was a yellow and red, some gray and some blue. Transjakarta logo is an eagle. Most people call it is a busway, but distinguished designation is transjakarta. TransJakarta has a special line is red. The path they should not be passed by another vehicle.

Each bus is equipped with an electronic bulletin board and stop notifying loudspeakers that will be passed immediately to the passengers in the two languages, namely Indonesian and English. TransJakarta Busway has a separated lane and station from the other vehicles, and supplemented with air conditioner making the trip by the bus more comfortable compared to the other buses.  The separated lane makes busway could avoid traffic jam as what usually happened everyday in Jakarta. There’re many tourism area that pass through TransJakarta Busway lane. Transjakarta provide free wifi. In addition to providing Internet network, TransJakarta has been providing free drinking water in some places. But it has been running for 3 months. Each bus is constructed with passengers' safety in mind. For example the body frame is constructed using Galvanyl (Zn - Fe Alloy), a strong and rust-resistant metal. There are also eight or ten glass-shattering hammers mounted on some of the window frames, and three emergency doors for fast evacuation during an emergency. There are also two fire extinguisher at the front and back of the buses.

The Mercedes-Benz OH and Hino RG air-conditioned buses are painted red and yellow, with a picture of a young Brahminy Kite, which looks very similar to a bald eagle grasping a tree branch with three snakefruit on it. The buses use special fuel which is (a mix of diesel and biodiesel). For Corridor 2 (bus colors: blue and white) and 3 (bus colors: yellow and red), the buses are CNG-fueled Daewoo buses imported from South Korea. Due to various coachbuilders being involved and design tweaks applied over time, the exterior and interior appearance, quality, and comfort varies between busses operating in the same corridor. The capacity of each bus is 30 seated and 55 standing passengers, though during rush hours these numbers are often exceeded by up to 80 passengers per bus. TransJakarta also operates Chinese-made Huanghai, Zhongtong, Ankai, local-made Komodo and Inobus articulated buses on long and straight corridors, such as Corridor 5. The passenger doors are higher than on normal buses so that passengers can only board from designated shelters. The doors employ automated folding mechanisms which can be manually controlled by the driver. Because the normal folding doors cannot open properly when the bus is overcrowded, buses on corridors II and III use sliding doors in order to accommodate the surge of passengers during rush hours.

Protective full-height acrylic glass barriers are installed behind passenger seats close to the sliding door mechanism. Seats in all buses face the aisle to optimize passengers' movement during rush hours. Corridor 1 buses use comfortable cushioned bus seats, the buses from subsequent corridors have less cushioned, hence less comfortable, seats. Each bus is equipped with an electronic board and speakers that announce the name of shelters in two languages, Indonesian and English. Each bus is also equipped with a bi-directional radio transceiver to allow the driver to provide and recaive updated information regarding traffic jams, road accidents or lost items. To keep the air fresh, especially during rush hours each bus is equipped with automatic air freshener dispensers which periodically spray car fragrance. In August 2011, TransJakarta operator has installed cameras on one bus for a trial period. The plan is to install 4 cameras on all buses gradually in efforts to improve services such as to inform passengers waiting for buses about how crowded approaching buses are and prevent sexual harassment on its service.

TOEIC
The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is "an English language test designed specifically to measure the everyday English skills of people working in an international environment."
There are different forms of the exam: The TOEIC Listening & Reading Test consists of two equally graded tests of comprehension assessment activities totaling a possible 990 score; the newer TOEIC Speaking & Writing Test comprises tests of pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, fluency, overall coherence, and structure (organization of sentences) totaling a possible 400 score.

TOEIC Speaking & Writing Test
The TOEIC Speaking & Writing Test was introduced in 2006. Test takers receive separate scores for each of the two tests, or can take the Speaking test without taking the Writing test. The Speaking test assesses pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and fluency, while the Writing test examines vocabulary, grammar, and overall coherence and organization. The tests are designed to reflect actual English usage in the workplace, though they do not require any knowledge of specialized business terms. The TOEIC Speaking Test takes approximately 20 minutes to complete; the TOEIC writing test lasts approximately 60 minutes. Each test has a score range between 0-200, with test takers grouped into eight proficiency levels.

History
The US-based Educational Testing Service (ETS) developed the TOEIC test to measure achievement in using English in a business setting. Yasuo Kitaoka was the central figure of the Japanese team that conceived the basic idea of the TOEIC test.
According to an Aug. 11, 2009 Japan Times article, "In the 1970s, Kitaoka began negotiating with ETS to create a new test of English communication for use in Japan. ETS responded that it required a nonprofit organization to work with as their partner. Kitaoka tried to enlist the help of the Ministry of Education, but their bureaucrats did not see the need for a new test to compete with the STEP Eiken, an English test already backed by the ministry. To overcome this opposition, Kitaoka received help from his friend, Yaeji Watanabe. Watanabe's influence as a retired high-ranking bureaucrat from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (renamed the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry, or METI) proved crucial to TOEIC's establishment.
Watanabe had remained in contact with his old ministry while working on the board of directors for the World Economic Information Services (WEIS) and as chairman of the Japan-China Economic Association, both public-interest corporations operating under MITI. Watanabe declined an interview request, but his memoirs describe how he overcame Ministry of Education opposition to the TOEIC by taking cover "behind the ministry of trade shield." Watanabe convinced his old ministry it should play the lead role in establishing a new English test, and formed a TOEIC Steering Committee under the WEIS umbrella. Members of the committee included other retired MITI bureaucrats and influential business leaders.
Government support secured, ETS began developing the test in 1977. In 1979, English learners in Japan filled in the first of many TOEIC multiple-choice answer forms."

ETS's major competitors are Cambridge University, which administers the IELTS, FCE, CAE, and CPE and Trinity College London, which administers GESE and ISE exams.

TOEFL
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is used to evaluate the English proficiency of students whose first language is not English.  It evaluates the student’s knowledge of English at the intermediate to advanced levels of English language studies.
The Institutional TOEFL is on a paper/pencil format and has three multiple-choice sections:
§ Listening Comprehension – this section measures the ability to understand English as it is spoken in the United States.
§ Structure and Written Expression – this section measures the ability to recognize language that is appropriate for standard written English.
§ Reading Comprehension – this section measures the ability to understand non-technical reading matter.
The approximate time for the TOEFL test is 2.5 hours.
Who is required to take the TOEFL Test?
The Office of Admissions and Recruitment will determine if you are required to take the TOEFL.  The Office of Admissions and Recruitment usually recommends that International students who are comfortable with English take the TOEFL test.  The Office of Graduate Student Services will determine which tests you need to take for admission to Graduate School.

History
In 1962, a national council made up of representatives of thirty government and private organizations was formed to address the problem of ensuring English language proficiency for non-native speakers wishing to study at U.S. universities. This council recommended the development and administration of the TOEFL exam for the 1963-1964 time frame.
The test was originally developed at the Center for Applied Linguistics under the direction of Stanford University applied linguistics professor Dr. Charles A. Ferguson.
The TOEFL test was first administered in 1964 by the Modern Language Association financed by grants from the Ford Foundation and Danforth Foundation.
In 1965, The College Board and ETS jointly assumed responsibility for the continuation of the TOEFL testing program. In 1973, a cooperative arrangement was made between ETS, The College Board, and the Graduate Record Examinationsboard of advisers to oversee and run the program. ETS was to administer the exam with the guidance of the TOEFL board.
To the present day, college admission criteria for international students who are Commonwealth of Nations nationals are exempted from taking the TOEFL exam - nations which are part of the Anglosphere (from Commonwealth realms to former British colonies e.g. Hong Kong SAR or former protectorates of the United States) where English is the de facto official language automatically grants a TOEFL exemption with some restrictions (e.g. residents of Quebec are required to take TOEFL while the rest of Canada is exempt).

TEFL

Defintion of TEFL
TEFL is the common abbreviation for Teaching English as a Foreign Language, which involves teaching students whose first language is not English. Students range in age from childhood to adult. EFL courses can take place in state schools, private schools or special EFL schools, and can be found in almost every country around the world. TEFL usually involves refining students' speaking and listening skills through exposure to native speakers of English who are qualified English teachers, or who have a qualification in TEFL teaching from an accredited TEFL training college.

TEFL Qualifications

  • o    TEFL qualifications include a bachelor of arts in English, and a secondary-level or above teaching qualification such as a teaching license from an accredited U.S. university or a post-graduate certificate in education from an accredited British university. University graduates who have not majored in English education can undertake a TEFL training course in order to qualify as a TEFL teacher.

TEFL Training
  • o    There are three TEFL qualifications recognized around the world: the Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA), the Trinity College (London) Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Cert TESOL), and the Trinity College (London) Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Trinity Dip TESOL).
  • For CELTA and Cert TESOL training, classes must take place at an accredited school. Courses range from five-week intensive to year-long programs. Each student must complete written assignments on specific language and adult teaching and learning topics. Their written assignments and classroom teaching skills will also be assessed by a college-appointed moderator.
  • For the Trinity Dip TESOL qualification, candidates must have completed two years of TEFL teaching in order to apply. Once the training commences, they must complete four hours of observed teaching, four assessment units and an independent project. All of these required components will be assessed by a Trinity College moderator.

TEFL Careers
  • o    TEFL teachers can become residential or non-residential teachers, assistant course directors, course directors, head teachers or owners of TEFL schools. TEFL teachers who wish to be promoted will often complete Trinity Dip TESOL training.

TEFL Job Opportunities
  • o    TEFL job opportunities for qualified TEFL teachers exist all over the world, for all ages of students from school-age to adult. Business English courses in schools, colleges and in businesses are also common in many countries.

TEFL Vacation Courses
  • o    In England, Ireland and the United States, many students over the age of 16 study EFL during the school holidays for one to twelve weeks, usually in a popular city like London, Dublin or New York. Some students choose to live in residential colleges. Other schools arrange classes during the day, and accommodation for the students with host families, with whom they practice their English while also learning about the culture of the country. The TEFL school will also schedule age-appropriate activities and sightseeing for the duration of the students' stay, which TEFL teachers will be expected to supervise or participate in.

TEFL Teaching Abroad
  • o    TEFL teachers taking up an overseas post should make sure they have a firm job offer complete with all salary, terms and benefits in writing, and that their round-trip travel expenses to and from the school are paid. They should also be certain their passport will not expire within the next six months, and that all the appropriate official work permits, sponsorship forms, visas and so on have been taken care of prior to departure.
